Compact Metal Structured Packing High Capacity Low Pressure Loss
Product Overview:
Process Optimization Focus
Metal structured packing is engineered to maximize gas-liquid contacting efficiency while minimizing pressure loss. By using ordered corrugated sheets assembled at specific stacking angles, the packing creates uniform flow channels and repeatable liquid film behavior. The practical result is lower HETP (height equivalent to a theoretical plate) and tighter control of stage efficiency, enabling smaller column heights for the same separation duty — particularly valuable in retrofit projects and compact process units.
Hydrodynamic Design & Performance Range
We supply a range of corrugation geometries and stacking angles tailored to throughput and F factor conditions. Specific surface areas typically range from 400 to 850 m²/m³; corrugation pitch and sheet thickness determine the balance between mass transfer surface and hydraulic resistance. Fine pitch (6–12 mm) suits low vapor velocity and high separation demand; coarse pitch (20–40 mm) handles higher vapor loads with lower fouling risk. Performance maps and vendor HETP curves are available to support simulation and scale-up.

Materials, Fouling & Maintenance
Material selection is driven by corrosion, abrasion and fouling potential. SS316L and Alloy 825 are recommended for chloride or sour streams; ceramic or PTFE lined panels are used where chemical attack is severe. Electropolishing reduces particulate adhesion and eases cleaning; removable modular blocks enable offline washing or ultrasonic cleaning. For dusty or particulate-laden streams, coarse packings or protective screens are recommended to extend run intervals.
Delivery, Integration & Technical Support
Modules are supplied as pre-cut panels or boxed modules for rapid insertion into existing columns. We provide support ring specs, hold-down hardware, distributor/collector compatibility notes and CAD layout for seamless integration. Typical lead times: 10–35 days depending on material and volume. Samples, engineering datasheets, performance curves and on-site commissioning support are available for project orders.
Provide column diameter, vapor and liquid loads and target separation (HETP or stage requirement). We will recommend the optimal packing grade, supply CAD layouts, and arrange sample modules for pilot testing.
