Hot Dip Galvanized Steel Grating Catwalk Grating for Chemical Plant G40/5
Description of Steel Grating
Steel gratings devide into two types: Welded bar grating&Press lock grating.
Welded bar grating is also called metal open bar grating. The bearing bars and cross bars are welded under high heat and pressure to form a permanent joint.
And there are two types of the steel bar grating: smooth and serrated steel bar gratings. But the serrated steel grating have better skid resistant property than the smooth surface steel bar grating.
Press lock grating is also called pressed grating or pressure lock grating, which is made of low carbon steel, stainless steel or aluminum. The press-locked grating is constructed with two close-tolerance slotted bars bonded together by tremendous hydraulic pressure. With high strength and firm structure, it's widely used in industrial factories or parks, commercial buildings, municipal engineering as stair treads, platforms, walkways, security screens, tree covers, trench covers, drainage covers and so on.

Features of Steel Grating
1. High Strength and Durability
-
Steel grating is known for its strength and long-lasting performance. Made from durable materials like carbon steel or stainless steel, it can withstand heavy loads, making it ideal for industrial, commercial, and infrastructural applications.
2. Corrosion Resistance
-
Stainless steel or galvanized steel grating offers excellent resistance to rust and corrosion, making it suitable for use in harsh environments such as chemical plants, offshore platforms, or outdoor settings where exposure to water or chemicals is common.
3. Slip Resistance
-
The design of steel grating provides enhanced safety with its slip-resistant surface, preventing accidents in high-traffic areas like walkways, stairs, and bridges. The open grid structure allows water, debris, or snow to drain easily, minimizing slip hazards.
4. Versatile Design Options
-
Steel grating comes in various styles, including welded, riveted, or press-locked, which allows it to be customized to suit specific load requirements, spacing, and project needs. It can also be fabricated to fit different shapes and sizes.
5. Cost-Effective
-
Steel grating offers a cost-efficient solution for a wide range of applications. Its low maintenance requirements and long lifespan reduce overall operational costs in the long term, especially in industrial settings.
6. Lightweight
-
Steel grating is relatively lightweight compared to solid metal plates, which makes it easier to handle, transport, and install. This can save on labor and installation costs.
7. Improved Air Circulation and Drainage
-
The open-grid structure of steel grating promotes better air circulation and drainage, which is particularly beneficial in applications like drainage systems, platforms, or where ventilation is important.
8. Aesthetic Appeal
-
Steel grating can have a sleek, modern look when used in architectural designs for public spaces, offering both function and style in buildings, bridges, or parks.
9. Environmental Benefits
-
Steel grating is a recyclable material, making it a more sustainable choice for construction projects. Its recyclability reduces environmental impact and waste.
10. Ease of Maintenance
-
Steel grating is easy to clean and maintain. The open spaces between the bars prevent debris from collecting, making it easier to wash or sweep, particularly in industrial or outdoor environments.
These advantages make steel grating a versatile, reliable, and cost-effective material for a variety of applications, from industrial floors to architectural designs.
Applications of Steel Grating
1. Water treatment: repair walkway, trench cover board, large container, cleaning device, blocking grate, running water tank, biochemical water treatment pool pendant, ventilation window, stairs, cooling tower operation table paving surface.
2. Chemical plant: stairway board, operating platform, guardrail, double floor, trench cover board, filter grate oil
3. Industry: offshore oil platforms
4. Textile mill: replace metal grille, wooden platform and cover cement ground, next to the dye tank, floor, near the valve, etc..
5. Power plant: chemical water workshop trench cover plate, waste pool, etc..
6. Marine food processing plant: slippery surface and other harsh environment, ships.
7. Transport: platforms, ship decks, walkways, stairs.
8. Beverage industry: Staircase floor board, replacement of expensive stainless steel, loaded floor.
