Demister Pads: Protecting Equipment from Liquid Carryover
Hebei Luojie Metal Products Co., Ltd. produces stainless steel knitted wire demister pads for gas liquid separation in oil and gas, chemical processing, fertilizer and power plants. The company, founded in 2002 in Anping County, Hebei, combines wire mesh manufacturing with engineering support and exports to customers in more than 50 countries, including North America, Europe and Southeast Asia.
How a Demister Pad Works
Knitted wire mesh is crimped and layered to create a dense bed of fine strands. As gas passes through, entrained droplets impinge on the wire surface, coalesce into larger drops and fall back into the vessel. A well specified pad removes the majority of droplets above 5 microns while adding very little pressure drop, protecting downstream compressors, heat exchangers and analyzers.

Applications
Knock out drums, separator vessels, absorbers, evaporators, scrubbers, distillation columns, compressor suction drums, desalination units and gas dehydration packages. Where fouling or solids are present, sandwich designs with a coarse pre layer can be supplied.
Quality Control
Mesh density, wire diameter, layer thickness and diameter tolerance are verified before packing. Material certificates to EN 10204 3.1 can be issued, and dimensional reports are provided for vessel installation. For critical service we can produce a trial pad for client inspection.
Export Service
Pads are packed in protective film and cartons or wooden cases, with individual labelling by vessel tag number. Luojie Metal's export team coordinates sea and air freight and prepares documentation for end users, EPC contractors and trading partners.
Installation Guidance
A demister pad performs best when it is installed flat, fully supported and sealed against the vessel wall so that gas cannot bypass the mesh bed. Pads are therefore supplied slightly oversized for a snug fit, with the support grid and hold down grid sized to the vessel drawing. Where manway access is limited, pads are delivered in segments with stainless steel fasteners and a simple assembly sequence. Our engineers also advise on the distance to the inlet nozzle and on the need for a wash nozzle above the pad, both of which strongly influence separation efficiency and service life in fouling duty.
